Cynthia M. Jones, M.D., F.A.C.S., has 13 years experience in surgery. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. She subsequently moved to New York where she completed her Internship and Residency in Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Once completing residency she joined the staff and obtained specialized training in advanced breast diagnostic techniques. She served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery in General, Laparoscopic and Trauma Surgery. She took over as the Director of Breast Surgery, during which time she developed a multidisciplinary Breast Surgery Service. This service provided comprehensive breast care and involved the Departments of Pathology, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Social Work and Physical Therapy. She organized and moderated a weekly Tumor Board Conference with her Oncologic colleagues. She was largely responsible for obtaining a half-million dollar grant to improve services for her patients. She was chosen in 2003 to be a member of a delegation of surgeons traveling to Russia to discuss surgical healthcare issues and to participate in an exchange of ideas. Dr. Jones is currently serving as Chief of Staff at Northern Louisiana Medical Center.
Kevin M. Meyer, MD, has 11 years of experience in Surgery. He is Board Certified in surgery by the American Board of surgery. He specialized in a full range of general surgery, with special interest in vascular and endovascular surgery, including peripheral balloon angioplasty, stent placement, and Silverhawk™ atherectomy. Prior to joining the staff and Northern Louisiana medical Center in January of 2008, Dr. Meyer was a cum laude graduate of Knox College, having received degrees in biology and chemistry. He was an All Conference and Academic All American in collegiate baseball and basketball. He received his Medical Doctorate Degree from Southern Illinois School of Medicine. He moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he completed internship and residency training in Surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Dr. Meyer participated in basic science and clinical research at LSUMC-S, submitting articles for publication, including publications in American Surgeon. He has received additional training in vascular ultrasound, pacemaker implantation, arteriography/venography, peripheral endovascular surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery; including hand assisted laparoscopic colectomy, advanced wound care techniques, and hyperbaric medicine. He enjoyed a busy private practice in South Florida for nearly 11 years. He is married to JoAnn, his wife of 12 years, and has two children. His hobbies include family vacations, sports, fitness, and home improvement projects.
